The Broken Spoke opens on July 28, 2009 and activities run through August 9, 2009.
As of today, 06/08/09, camping spots are available for $99.00 per person, for the entire rally. They also have some 30 or 50-amp RV spots available.
Unfortunately all private, air-conditioned cabins have sold out. The Broken Spoke offers a beautiful 600 acre campground with the “World’s Biggest Biker Pool”, with hot tubs, live music and bikini-clad bartenders. Also featured is “The Broken Spoke Saloon” a huge 45,000 sq. ft. ride-thru bar, with live music, an art gallery, a cigar bar, martini bar, a repair shop, and merchandise store. They also have bath houses with bathrooms and hot showers. There is a coin-op laundry, free wi-fi, a general store, 24-hour food vendors, shade tents and more.
I stayed at the Spoke during the 2005 Rally. I rode my new Harley, a 2005 Softail Deluxe up from Eugene, Oregon. I booked early though and was able to rent a cabin. Theres quite a lot of things going on that will keep you entertained around the Broken Spoke. Live music daily, contests, shows, and of course the Girls of the Broken Spoke. It’s a great time. They also have a Saloon in town, Sturgis that is, it’s also quite entertaining. Always great music with live bands, and the people are so much fun! Yeah, I’d recommend checking it out. A shuttle at the Spoke runs from the campground to the Broken Spoke Saloon on Lazelle St. Sturgis.
